OptiMiser is Ideal for Field Audits — No Internet Needed
OptiMiser is a tablet-optimized, web-tethered PC application. It runs completely offline but connects to the internet when a connection is available to download data and program updates or exchange project data with your database. This combines the control of web based systems with the speed, power and adaptability of a PC system. For many clients, the reliability of a PC system is mandatory. Rural locations may make web-based systems unworkable, and the intermittency of web connectivity in any environment jeopardizes the reliability and speed of on-site report delivery that is a key goal for efficiency and effectiveness.
OptiMiser's instant computation of multiple hourly models changes the usual black box auditing experience to a learning opportunity where every change in inputs informs the auditor of the impact of that change as well as cost-effectiveness of adjustments to improvements. The delays in a web-based system would make this impossible. This is only possible using our proprietary network computational methods harnessing the full power of a local processor.
Tablet-optimized
The recent advent of light, low cost, and long battery life PC tablets makes the OptiMiser experience unprecedented in power, speed, and convenience. Tablets are now available that weigh 2 pounds, have 9 hours of battery life, include hi-definition displays, and cost about $700. (For comparison, the iPad weighs 0.4 pounds less, and has the same reported batter life.) The interface has been touch-optimized. We have developed custom controls, automatic interface resizing, and adjusted all phases of our interface to optimize the touch-screen tablet experience.
Using OptiMiser's web-tethered architecture we are able to maintain multiple custom versions in the field. We routinely release new features, adjust prices and defaults for specific users, and revise or create new reports for clients with many auditors in the field.
Remote data and file handling for programs
Web-tethering also offers remote data and file handling. Program administrators can preload and queue project files for specific users in the field. Users retrieve projects with one button and send completed projects whenever internet connectivity is available.
