We’ve been rolling out OptiMiser updates daily (and more frequently) in response to feedback from contractors. Changes include numerous improvements for report usability and consistency, utility bill calibration bug fixes and enhancements, and an updated measures library with VT-specific default items.
Please make sure you keep your software updated, and stay in touch: we need your help to make the contractor-program link seamless and effective.UPDATE NOTES AND SUGGESTIONS:
Set Financing Rate for Each Project
Your OptiMiser-generated homeowner report includes a financing page with two financing options. In order for the financing scenarios to make sense, a financed amount needs to be specified in OptiMiser. This is done by entering the percent financed as an integer (“100” means 100%; the total net cost will be financed) towards the bottom of the “Debt Ratio – total” column on the Cost table.
Next week we will have an automated routine to default this value to 100%. At that time you will need to adjust it down if you want the financing page to show financing packages of less than the full net cost of the project.
Repair Bill Dates
We recently issued an update that corrects utility bill date assignment in auto-loaded electric bills and some multiple fuel bill scenarios. If you are experiencing problems with bill calibration or you see that bills are out of order, please do the following.
1. Where electric bills have been automatically loaded, click on the Multiple Accounts button at the bottom of the electric bill data entry screen and then close the resulting popup. This will fix errors in the assignment of bill dates.
2. If multiple fuel bills have been used, then open the Multiple Fuel Entry popup, click on the End Date control and hit Enter or toggle the date to a different value and then back. Please Use Our Support Team
Learning new software is challenging, and OptiMiser is a complex program. It may seem like you don’t know the right questions to ask, but start communicating with us and very soon you’ll find your issues can be broken down and overcome. We’re here to help!
General Question or How-To?
Use the Forum: if you have a question or need some “how to” instructions, please enter your issue in the OptiMiser Forum (https://optimiserenergy.com/forums).
The forum is just the start of a discussion. We monitor and respond to posts immediately, and will email or call if that’s where the discussion leads. But starting with forum posts helps the whole contractor community by making issues and resolutions transparent and available.
Problem in OptiMiser?
Use Easy Error Reporting: if you experience a problem in OptiMiser that appears to be an error or that occurs during work on a specific project, use the Issue Reporting function inside of OptiMiser to report this issue (https://optimiserenergy.com/online-support/easy-error-reporting-in-optimiser).
Don’t get hung up trying to decide whether or not it’s a bug; just hit the button! We don’t mind, and it gives us valuable information when we can see your log via the error report system.
