Regarding the “DOE recommendations” in the report: right now those are not variable (we’re working on making them dynamic based on IECC recommendations), so it’s something you might want to edit in your report template.
You can edit any text content in your PDF report:
Open the report generator, click on the relevant page in the report tree, click the “+” button next to “(Additional Content),” click on the relevant section. On the right side of the report generator two panes will appear showing the template contents and a preview of what the generated content will look like, taking values for any variables from the current project. Click “Edit Template” and edit the template contents in the bottom frame of the Template Editor popup. Click save to save your edits to the report template.
But remember two things:
(1) Edits to the report template text apply to every subsequent project. This is different from adding photos, which are only used for the current project. You should avoid adding notes specific to the current project. Instead, try finding a control in OptiMiser that contains the information you need, like one of the Notes controls at the bottom of each building component screen. You can right-click on the control and choose View Entry to see the internal control name. Then put the control name in brackets in the report template content to use it like a variable. For example, the control RptAtticNotes is at the bottom of the Attic screen on both the Wizard and detailed screens. That control is already hooked up to the attic report page, but let’s say you want to put your notes on the Home Facts page. Just navigate to the section where you want to use the notes, open the Template Editor, and stick in the variable: [RptAtticNotes].(2) It is not easy to roll back edits, so if you think you might want to go back to the original content, make a note of that content somewhere else. This is probably most important if you’re tempted to delete a variable, since there are so many variables and it’s sometimes hard to find the one you want, unless you see the control in OptiMiser and can get the internal control name.
