There are multiple files that need to be copied over if you want to move all your defaults and customizations to a new OptiMiser installation. For simplicity, I’ll refer to the existing version, where all your customizations are, as the OLD version, and the new installation as the NEW version.
1) Go to the installation directory of your OLD version (something like C:\Program Files (x86)\OptiMiser) and look in the Customization\UI folder. Copy the files DefaultValues.xl and Custom[Report-OMPDF]UIReport.xl. Paste them all in the same location in your NEW installation, overwriting the existing version of DefaultValues.xl.
2) Go back to the OLD installation, into the folder Customization\Reports. Copy all the files like [OMPDF] HPwES-mod.omr, where “HPwES-mod” is the name of a custom report selection you’ve made. Paste them all into the same folder in the NEW installation.
3) While you’re in the NEW installation go to the Databases folder. Rename Cost.db3 to CostUpdated.db3. Go back to the OLD version installation and go to the Databases folder. Copy Cost.db3. Paste it in the Databases folder in the NEW installation. When you restart OptiMiser go to Tools>Check for Updates. Even if you’re all up to date, that action triggers the custom values from the measure cost databases to be copied into the updated version.
NOTE: There is a utility in OptiMiser that allows you to export/import measures cost Templates. However, the operation is extremely slow on most computers. We’re working on speeding it up, but in the meantime item 3 above is the fastest and most reliable method.
