The 2022 Palm Springs International Film Festival, which was set to occur January 7 to 17, was cancelled in light of the current surge.
A red carpet premiere was also scheduled last month for the upcoming film Cyrano, but that too was postponed 'out of an abundance of caution given the changing COVID landscape,' according to.

Instead of the glitzy premiere, a screening of the film was set to move forward where COVID protocols 'including proof of vaccination [and] proof of negative test within 48 hours of the screening' would be observed.

The upcoming HBO Max series Peacemaker is set to premiere on the streaming service on January 13.
